Women in Logistics and Transport

Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) was launched in June 2013 to promote our industry to female members and to encourage and support their career development. By June 2014 WiLAT had over 1600 members in 14 countries and we’re still growing.

Australia is establishing the Women in Transport and Logistics and our Convenor, Catherine Lou, would love to hear from women that are interested in growing the WiLAT Chapter in Australia.

Please contact admin@cilta.com.au if you require more information or would love to help Kelly as she builds her team.

“We’re enjoying great success in cultivating a spirit of togetherness to thrive in a male dominated industry (Aisha Ali Ibrahim, WiLAT Global Convenor at the WiLAT Africa Regional Conference March 2014).”

WiLAT Membership

WiLAT membership is fully dependent on membership of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT). Female members of CILT automatically become members of their local group of WilAT. Male members of CILT or anyone interested in WilAT but not yet a member of CILT may become a Friend of WiLAT. For further information please contact the chairperson of your local group or your regional co-ordinator.

WiLAT Structure

Our Global Convenor, who sits on the CILT International Management Committee, is responsible for the growth and development of WiLAT internationally and for co-ordinating our annual global conference. Regional co-ordinators promote the interests of women in their region and encourage membership. Country groups work with and on behalf of women at local level, organising events, providing local support and networking opportunities, and representing women within the local CILT council.

Establishing a WiLAT Group

WilAT groups are formed within CILT Territorial Organisations and Branches. In areas where CILT is not yet established WiLAT activities will be guided by the regional co-ordinator. Please contact your regional co-ordinator for more information on establishing a local group.

WiLAT Sponsorship

Sponsorship is welcomed to encourage and sustain the development of WiLAT. Please contact us if you wish to support our groups or events.

Local WiLAT groups by region:

There are new groups developing all the time. If your country group is not listed please contact your regional co-ordinator or you can visit the global updates on WiLAT blog

CALF Program

We are delighted to inform you that the Career and Life Formula (CALF) program is now available for WiLAT members globally.   Originated from WiLAT Hong Kong, the program has helped young managers of our industry to advance by learning from successful industry leaders and elites.   The empirical approach has distinguished the CALF program from any other academic program.   It is a unique opportunity for young managers to develop an overall picture of the latest industry trends; and build their social network with other highflyers at the same time.

Endorsed by CILT International, participants will be awarded of a CILT International Certification with CPD upon completion of the 11 weeks of online program.
